Department of Educational Administration partnership with 2U

The University of Dayton has entered into a partnership with 2U, one of the foremost education technology companies in the U.S., to offer online graduate degrees in the School of Education and Health Sciences. This partnership includes the Master of Science in Education (MSE) in Educational Leadership degree program.

Current students

I take all my classes in person on the UD campus. Am I affected by the 2U partnership?: No. Students who attend face-to-face classes on the UD campus are not affected by the 2U partnership. You will continue to attend classes on the UD campus.

I take all my classes online via UD. Do I have to switch to 2U in order to finish my degree program?: No. Current students who are enrolled in the UD online program have until the end of the Fall 2020 term to complete all courses required for their program. Special circumstances will be considered.

I take all my classes in a hybrid format (combination of face-to-face & online). Am I affected by the 2U partnership?: No. Students who take all classes in a hybrid format (combination of face-to-face & online) are not affected by the 2U partnership. You will continue to attend classes in a hybrid format.

I am taking classes toward the MSE in Educational Leadership (optional designated Catholic schools online course sections). Am I affected by the 2U partnership?: No. Students who are currently taking coursework for the MSE in Educational Leadership (optional designated Catholic schools online course sections) are not affected by the 2U partnership. You will continue to attend classes on the UD campus and online.

Prospective students

I am interested in enrolling at UD, and taking all my classes in person on the UD campus. Am I affected by the 2U partnership?: No. Students who attend face-to-face classes on the UD campus are not affected by the 2U partnership. You will continue to attend classes on the UD campus.

I am interested in enrolling at UD, and taking all my classes online. Am I affected by the 2U partnership?: The answer to this question depends on your acceptance date into the program. Students who are accepted into the program on or before Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, are not affected by the 2U partnership. 

For students accepted into the program on or after Jan. 13, 2018, three options are available:

  1. Attend classes online via 2U.
  2. Attend hybrid classes (online classes & meet on UD campus).
  3. Attend all face-to-face classes on UD campus.

I am interested in taking all my classes in a hybrid format (combination of face-to-face & online). Am I affected by the 2U partnership?: No. Students who take all classes in a hybrid format (combination of face-to-face & online) are not affected by the 2U partnership. You will continue to attend classes in a hybrid format.

How do I enroll in the program via 2U?: More information will be available soon about enrolling in MSE in Educational Leadership classes via 2U.
