LGBTQ+ Inclusion
"In the Family Spirit"
Guided by our Catholic and Marianist values, the University of Dayton is committed to honoring the intrinsic value and dignity of all people. We strive to foster a campus community where all members, including those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+), are welcomed, respected, safe and valued.
Grounded on the Catholic and Marianist values of the University of Dayton, President Eric Spina, Vice President Tiffany Taylor, and Dr. Anya Galli Robertson describe the commitment of the institution to members of our community who identify as LGBTQ+.

Our LGBTQ+ students are integral to the Marianist community cultivated on our campus. We value the dignity of every member and seek to cultivate an environment in which genuine human relationships and the beauty of their diversity can flourish. In this way, individuals can thrive, learn and live to their potential. The Brook Center Brook Center for Empowerment and Wellbeing and Campus Ministry provide support for our students. UD Athletics has received a top score on the Athletic Equality Index.
The University of Dayton’s support for LGBTQ+ employees is grounded in our family spirit and our commitment to inclusive excellence and the fair and equitable treatment of all members of our community.
To address strategic goals, needs and concerns related to inclusion and equity for employees of the UD community who identify as LGBTQ+, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion created the Fellowship for LGBTQ+ Inclusion. Our current fellow is Anya Galli Robertson, who serves as Associate Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, & Social Work.
The University of Dayton Alumni Association is actively working to engage LGBTQ+ alumni in inclusion efforts on campus and in our alumni communities.
