Carrying out the University of Dayton's vision as a national leader in educating community builders, the Fitz Center for Leadership in Community initiates and sustains partnerships with urban neighborhoods and larger communities for both comprehensive community building and as a context for connected learning and scholarship. The Center stimulates, coordinates and facilitates learning and scholarship throughout the University, within the community and between the two.

Greater West Dayton Incubator
The Greater West Dayton Incubator (GWDI) was conceived at the intersections of the University of Dayton’s (UD) strategic visioning process and courageous conversations with Greater West Dayton leaders. Focused on mitigating power imbalances between the city’s predominantly Black neighborhoods and the Catholic Marianist university. This strategic initiative is part of UD’s plan-of-action to become an anti-racist institution and will provide opportunities for students to work alongside entrepreneurs to start, scale, and sustain businesses and social ventures.
