Profile
Charles Lockhart leads the UAS and Embedded Systems group comprised of engineers who specialize in providing software integration efforts as well aerial testing services targeting small unmanned aerial systems. Previous integration efforts involved developing testing methodologies to support comprehensive system review, developing targeted requirements specific to customer needs and supplying sensor control and analysis matched against implementation and performance requirements. He has over 12 years of experience in desktop and embedded software solutions; software system integration; instrumentation and image/signal processing support; medical device software; analytical software. In addition, he has experience leading software development teams within commercial enterprises supporting sensing products.
Research
Research and development activities within the UAS and Embedded Systems Group include the following:
- Evaluation of customer requirements through lab, field, and flight test activities
- Provision of technical expertise and operational studies
- Development of technical requirements and performance parameters based on customer needs
- Provision of digital sensor guidance in order to help create standard procedures
- Design and implementation of medical software solutions
- Extensive desktop software user interface design
- Design of analytical software solutions for viewing sensor data
- Transitioning technologies from concept to production
