Profile

Dan Bowman has over 32 years of experience and success in the areas of aircraft structures, materials, components, systems, and subsystems. He has been the Program Manager and Program Technical Manager on programs from under $1,000 to over $10 million. He has extensive experience with aircraft structures and a variety of aircraft systems, including wings, pylons, landing gear, actuators, pumps, fuel systems, hydraulics, EPUs, ground support equipment, aircraft tooling, inspection equipment and fixturing, radomes, and aircraft transparency systems.
 
Aircraft systems Dan has worked on include the A-7, A-10, B-1, Boeing 787, Bombardier/Learjet 45, C-5, DC-10, F-4, F-5, F-15, F-16, F/A-18, F-111, F-22, JPATS (T-6), F-35 (JSF), KC-135, KTX-2, S-3 and T-38.

Research

Dan has in-depth experience in managing engineering programs and providing technical expertise and guidance in solving system and sustainment engineering problems for DoD R & D programs in these areas:

  • Aircraft new subsystem development engineering feasibility and trade studies
  • New and replacement aircraft systems and components design and integration
  • Aircraft systems and components prototype fabrication, initial manufacturing and installation
  • Aerospace systems and subsystems performance, durability, acceptance, flight, and qualification testing
  • Ground vehicle, ground support equipment, and test equipment design, development, and testing
  • Aircraft structures with emphasis on SLAPs, SLEPs, and ASIP
  • Reverse engineering and technical documentation including reprocurable data packages, qualification test reports, and technical orders
  • Sustainment engineering for aging aircraft
