  • B.A., Criminal Justice Studies, Sociology, University of Dayton

As a graduate of the University of Dayton, I am excited to once again be back on campus completing my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. For my internship experience, I chose UD due to my passion of engaging with students at such an exciting time in their lives. I am currently in the final year of my graduate program and will be starting my third semester with the UDCC.

While college is a time to learn and grow, it can also bring stress, anxiety, and other hardships. As a counselor, I believe all students have the ability to develop effective coping mechanisms to deal with the challenges of college. I believe in a strength-based approach which seeks to explore each client’s unique ways of engaging their cognitive, behavioral, and emotional issues. My ultimate goal is to empower individuals to eventually resolve their problems independent of a mental health professional and reach autonomy.

My theoretical orientation is integrative and holistic but grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It reflects influences from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My areas of interest include, but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, life transitions, addictions, substance use, relationships, interpersonal communication, and grief/loss.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, backpacking, exercising, exploring technology, collecting/playing board games, and immersing myself into the mediums of fantasy literature and video games.
