Student Development: The Brook Center
Laura Carper (she/her) serves as the assistant director of Wellbeing at the Brook Center, where she draws on her extensive experience in violence prevention, higher education administration, sustainability and animal advocacy. She leads impactful campus-wide initiatives, including the Food4Flyers pantry and the SwipeOut Hunger campaign, with a focus on advancing equity, sustainability, student success and holistic wellbeing.
In addition to her professional work, Laura is a registered yoga teacher, integrating mindfulness and wellness practices into her approach to fostering thriving, inclusive communities. She holds a Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of North Carolina Asheville, a Bachelor’s in Secondary English Education from the University of South Florida, and an Associate of Fine Arts from St. Petersburg College. Currently, she is pursuing an Ed.D. in Leadership for Organizations at the University of Dayton, further enhancing her ability to drive transformative change.
