Campus Ministry: Center for Social Concern
Personal History
Hi! I am the Director of Community Engagement here in Campus Ministry's Center for Social Concern. Much of my work is specific to the City of Dayton, as I connect students to community partners who are working to address challenges and injustices our Dayton community is faced with.
I like to think about the work that I do as education for active citizenship from a lens of faith. To me, this means putting faith into action for justice right here in Dayton, because we are all called to community with and for one another. I hail from Columbus, OH, but have called Dayton home for the last decade.
After graduating from the University of Dayton, I did a year of service with Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest in Juneau, Alaska working at an art studio for people with disabilities. I love all things outdoors, and often find I am most present to God while outside.
“We cannot love God unless we love each other, and to love we must know each other. We know Him in the breaking of bread, and we know each other in the breaking of bread, and we are not alone anymore. Heaven is a banquet and life is a banquet, too, even with a crust, where there is companionship.” - Dorothy Day's, The Long Loneliness
