Allen Sultan joined the faculty of the University of Dayton School of Law in 1978. During his 27 years at the law school, he distinguished himself through his teaching and writing in the fields of Constitutional Law and International Law and by his admirable sensitivity and commitment to the need to develop in students a sense of professionalism and responsibility. He had numerous awards and appointments, including two Fulbright lectureships, and a position on the International Scientific and Professional Advisory Council of the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Program.

Professor Sultan retired from the University of Dayton School of Law in May 2005.
