Joseph Brossart is career law clerk for the Hon. Thomas M. Rose of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

After graduating from Notre Dame Law School, he clerked for the Hon. Robert B. Krupansky of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Later, he joined the Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of West Virginia, where he argued appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Joseph graduated from Miami University with degrees in Russian Language and Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs. After graduation, he served as an administrative attaché to the United States Embassy in Moscow. Later, he was a consultant for Ernst & Young in Moscow and Kiev. He has volunteered with the Missionaries of Charity in Moscow, Kiev, Armenia, Mexico and San Francisco. He has also volunteered with the ABA's Central and East European Law Initiative in Warsaw.

His research has focused on comparative human rights regimes.
