Profile

Margaret "Mo" Burke had her first international experience during her college years, when she studied abroad in Cartago, Costa Rica. This experience was transformational on her professional path moving forward, as she then applied to and was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Costa Rica for the 2017 year. After her Fulbright, she remained in Costa Rica and she taught ESL in a nearby private school & high school, and then transitioned into the Senior Adviser position for EducationUSA Costa Rica, a program funded by the U.S. Department of State that supports international students as they apply to U.S. universities and colleges. In this role, Mo confirmed her love and desire to continue working with intercultural and global learning and education. Upon her return to the U.S. and the Dayton area, she began her new role as the Assistant Director in the Global and Intercultural Affairs Center at UD, where she will be supporting on campus, local, and virtual global and intercultural learning opportunities, through programs and initiatives like Diversity Peer Educators, the Global Learning Living Community, and the Dialogue Zone.
