Finance and Administrative Services: Audit, Risk and Compliance
Mark joined the University of Dayton's Environmental Health and Safety office in 2003 and currently serves as its director. His primary focus is on laboratory compliance and overseeing employee health and safety within the 400 plus teaching and research laboratories at the University. Among other things, he serves as the University’s radiation and biological safety officer and manages the University's hazardous waste program. Mark has a Bachelor of Science in biology, a Master of Science in ecology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dayton. Prior to joining EHS, Mark worked as a research scientist in plant physiology and plant ecology. Interesting research projects that he has been a part of include studying the resistance mechanisms of Roundup resistant crops and restoring native plant communities to the Fernald nuclear plant, following its decommission as a uranium weapons site.
