Why UD?

I love UD because of the commitment everyone has towards mastering what they do. Students are always excited to get involved in clubs, competitions and classes, the professors are committed to making their classes succeed and UD has staff that are always available to help you succeed.

Why did you choose engineering? Why UD engineering?

I chose engineering because it gives me the opportunity to transform the world into a place where people can coexist with the environments that surround them. UD engineering encourages students to follow the call to help make the world a better place while giving you the tools to build a successful career, where other engineering schools are only set up to develop professionals.

The School of Engineering is focused on experiential learning, which means that they encourage students to get out into the world to produce meaningful projects. This could mean getting involved in engineering design clubs on campus, co-ops, internships, study abroad or Ethos. All of these help students at UD get real world engineering experience before they graduate which is a huge resume builder, and is often very exciting.

What is your favorite part of UD?

My favorite part of UD is how easy it is to get involved with your faith, while you are discovering your passion and career path. There are many different types of faith based clubs and orgs on campus, and Campus Ministry encourages students to find what fits them, whether that is going to Mass on Sundays, attending non-denominational Bible studies or taking classes on other religions, students have the opportunity to discover what is right for them.

What advice would you give high school students?

My best advice to high school students looking at colleges is to go on campus visits and tours and see who gets you excited to be you. College is a time of discovery about yourself and the college that excites you about making those discoveries can make a huge difference when making your final decision.
