Why UD?

UD offers many opportunities for its students to become involved! I love getting involved in those of experiential learning which allows me to apply my passion for engineering through various experiences. Plus, having an amazing community to support you along the way. Everyone wants to see you excel and succeed.

Why did you choose engineering? Why UD engineering?

I chose engineering because I wanted to have a career I would enjoy and challenge myself in while making a positive impact on society. This field would enable me to harness my creativity and problem-solving skills to design and develop innovative solutions to world problems. I selected UD’s engineering program for its exceptional resources and experiences. With the help of the Co-op and Internship Office, I was able to find 3 incredibly valuable work experiences. Additionally, I had the opportunity to study abroad twice through UD — first on a spring break trip to Costa Rica through EGR 103, and then a six-week summer program in Florence, Italy, both led by UD faculty.

What is your favorite part of UD?

My favorite part about UD is the amount of support and encouragement you feel from everyone. Whether that be in your classes with your professors, or friendships you make along the way, you will always have someone there to help guide you in your goals and endeavors and then cheering you on when you succeed.

What advice would you give high school students?

Connect with current students at the specific school and ask them about what they are involved in/ have accomplished. They can provide you valuable insights about a university and all that it has to offer. Also, trust your instincts and choose a place where you feel comfortable and excited to learn.
