Why UD?

The first time I visited campus and saw the student neighborhood, Dayton very quickly became one of my favorite schools of any that I had visited. It was an environment that I couldn't seem to find in other universities, and that's what I believe drew me in from the start.

Why did you choose engineering? Why UD engineering?

Engineering was something I felt I was bound to do following high school. I grew up with my dad going to the race track and I was hooked instantly, I knew that at some point I wanted to be part of that action, maybe even design the next car or motorcycle that was on the track. UD's School of Engineering grabbed my attention based on the programs that were offered, program strength and career placement success rate.

Even though we may be a smaller university, there is no lack of opportunity as a student. Internships, research, study abroad, professional organizations, you name it and we have the same exact opportunities but with the greater benefit of a smaller student body that our faculty can better focus on.

What is your favorite part of UD?

The feeling of community has always been one of the greatest things about UD in my opinion, starting from the dorms as a freshman to the student neighborhood as a junior/senior, it's just a feeling that grows with you while on campus.

What advice would you give high school students?

It's not just about the programs and the degrees in college, it's building yourself as a whole person and learning who you are and what you really want to do. The whole experience is what you make it out to be, make it the best you possibly can.
