I chose UD because it combines the benefits of a big school with the personalized, close-knit feel of a smaller one. Even though UD is a large university, it still makes me feel at home and finding my place here has been easy. The sense of community is strong, and everyone is friendly and supportive. The smaller class sizes mean that I can really connect with my professors and classmates, which makes my educational experience feel tailored just for me. Professors are always accessible and ready to help, adding a personal touch to my learning journey. At UD, I feel supported both as a student and as a whole person, making it a place where I truly feel I belong.
I chose engineering because I’m a very hands-on learner, and I’ve always been fascinated by cars and planes. I couldn’t picture myself doing anything else, as engineering allows me to dive deep into understanding how things work and how they’re built. I chose UD Engineering because it offers that same sense of belonging and support that the entire university does. Even though UD has the resources of a big school, it still feels like a close-knit community, especially in the engineering program. The smaller class sizes make it easy to connect with professors, who are always accessible and willing to help, which makes my education path feel tailored to me. UD Engineering gives me the tools and support to pursue my passion while feeling right at home.
My favorite part about UD is that there’s always something to do, and I’m constantly learning and discovering new things. The campus has a great energy, and there are so many opportunities to get involved, whether it’s through clubs, events or just hanging out with friends. I’ve met some amazing, like-minded people who share my interests and passions, which makes every day even more enjoyable. Whether I’m learning something exciting in class or spending time with friends, there’s always something happening that makes UD an incredible place to be.
My advice for high school students looking at colleges is to choose a place that’s the best fit for you, rather than just following where all of your friends are going. College is a time to discover yourself and explore new interests, so it’s important to pick a school that aligns with your goals and values. Don’t worry about making friends — you’ll meet tons of amazing people along the way who share your interests and will become lifelong friends. Focus on finding a college that feels right for you, and everything else will fall into place.
