Why UD?

I chose UD when I was touring schools, and as soon as I stepped on campus it felt like home. UD was the last school I visited and none of my other schools caught my attention until I stepped foot on UD's campus. Everyone is so welcoming and invests in your wellbeing and success.

Why did you choose engineering? Why UD engineering?

I chose engineering because I wanted to go into a field that was a safe option. Engineers can go into almost any job field and are very versatile. UD Engineering is a very highly regarded program, and the alumni network is like no other. The connections that come from UD have helped me immensely through college and are currently putting me in great positions for after college.

The University of Dayton offers incredible support groups for all students, creating a welcoming environment where everyone can succeed. However, it’s essential for students to take the initiative and seize the opportunities available. These opportunities are truly life-changing and have personally helped me grow in ways I never imagined. By getting involved and utilizing the resources around you, you can make the most of your time here and unlock your full potential.

What is your favorite part of UD?

My favorite part of UD is the community. The school is centered around the students and there are so many opportunities for students to flourish. Everyone is so invested in the success of their peers in and out of the classroom.

What advice would you give high school students?

When looking for colleges, there is no correct answer. Wherever you decide to be is where you will do amazing. After choosing a college, you will never know about the other choices and therefore never know what would be best. So do not put more stress than needed into this decision because whichever school you choose will be perfect for you depending on what you make of it. The idea that the "perfect" college experience is more about how you engage with the opportunities and community at the school you choose rather than the school itself.
