Dr. Chong is currently an associate professor in the Department of Physics and the Graduate Program in Electro-optics. He received his Ph.D. degree from Cornell University in 2008. His research interests are in nonlinear optics and ultrafast pulse propagation especially in fiber lasers and amplifiers. He is also conducting a research in complex optical wave packets and their applications. Dr. Chong has authored 60+ publications in refereed journals and conferences.
