Claire Greene is an exceptional performer and passionate teacher, recognized across the U.S. and Italy for her solo performances and orchestral appearances. She has performed with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Ohio Light Opera, Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, Allen Philharmonic Orchestra and Spoleto (Italy) Festival Orchestra, among many others.
A prominent soloist, Claire is a harpist-in-residence at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, where she can be seen playing daily for tea and demitasse, and on demand for weddings and Silver Service dinners. With a love of new music, Claire is in demand as a chamber artist and recording musician. She has performed for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s SOLUNA International Music and Arts Festival, recorded for video game soundtracks, and recently collaborated with local composer Josh Haudenshield on recording a collection of harp and Native American flute duets.
As an educator, Claire is the professor of harp at the University of Dayton, where she teaches college students of all levels. She also directs and coaches UD's harp ensemble, The Wing Walkers. She is also a sought-after private lesson instructor at the Music Academy of Centerville, which she co-founded in 2020.
Since beginning her harp studies at age 8, Claire has undertaken extensive studies at the Eastman School of Music and Chicago College of Performing Arts. She holds a B.A. from Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University and an M.M. from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Her teachers include Ulli Brinksmeier, Kathleen Bride, Sarah Bullen and Gillian Benet Sella.
Claire Greene lives in Centerville, Ohio, with her husband, two children and two ragdoll cats.
