Profile
Tifton Graves, tenor is a native of Steubenville, Ohio. He attended Youngstown State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance. Graves went on to earn his Masters degree in vocal performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music. He has performed a number of operatic roles such as Federico in Mascagni’s L’amico Fritz, Dr. Blind in Die Fledemaus, Monostatos in The Magic Flute, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, The Chaplain in Dialogues des Carmelites, Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro, the Podesta in La Finta Giardiniera, the Defendant in Trial by Jury, Pedrillo in Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail, Lindoro in the Italian Girl in Algiers, and Captain Fitzbattleaze in Utopia Limited. Tifton has also performed the role of Peter in the Cincinnati Opera’s production of Francesca Zambello’s setting of the Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. Dayton Opera as the Parpignol in La Boheme, Nelson/Crabman in Porgy and Bess and Emporer Altoum in Turandot.
Professor Graves is currently an Adjunct Professor of Voice at the University of Dayton, Voice Instructor for Stivers School for the Arts and Private voice teacher in the City of Dayton.
