CPT David M. Mast was born and raised outside Cincinnati, Ohio and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 2013, from The Citadel: The Military College of South Carolina into the Ordnance (OD) Corps. He attended the OD Basic Officer’s Course at Fort Lee, Virginia after graduation. His first assignment was as the Maintenance Control Officer for B Company, 168 BSB, 214th Fire Brigade, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Upon force realignment in March 2015 he was intra post transferred to 66th Forward Support Company (FSC), 3-13 Field Artillery Regiment (MLRS), 75th Fires Brigade, Fort Sill, Oklahoma as the Distribution Platoon Leader. His unit deployed to Camp Casey, Republic of Korea (ROK) for a nine month rotation in early 2016. Upon return he assumed the role of Executive Officer (XO) for the company. In spring 2017 he attended the Combined Logistics Captain’s Career’s Course (CLC3) at Fort Lee, Virginia and graduated as a Logistics (LG) Officer. CPT Mast assumed command of E Company (Maintenance), 1-62 Air Defense Artillery Regiment (Patriot), 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas in April 2018. His unit was forward deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield from October 2017- October 2018. Upon change of command in August 2019, CPT Mast moved to the University of Dayton to become the Assistant Professor of Military Science. CPT Mast is married to the former Kristen Reilly of Richmond, Virginia and they reside outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. They have one daughter Emma Grace and are expecting another daughter in late 2019. His accolades include the Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon (2)
