Profile

Nicky Adams is a full-time lecturer in English, teaching professional and technical writing courses and coordinating the department’s Writing Internship Program. She has taught in London, Dublin, and Spain with the School of Business Administration's Study Abroad Programs, focusing on cultural differences in workplace communication. Nicky was awarded College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Member of the Year (non-tenure) for 2015.

Nicky also conducts professional workshops on communication topics for UD's Center for Leadership and other corporate and non-profit organizations in Ohio. She began her teaching career at Centerville High School in 1988, after earning her B.S. in Education from Miami University. She completed her M.A. in English and Organizational Communication at Wright State, where she also directed the University Writing Center for five years. Before joining UD, Nicky was a Workforce Development Account Manager for Sinclair Community College, where she consulted with area businesses to assess training needs and implement related programs.
