Profile

Dr. Beagle has long been interested in studying the physical and biological mechanisms which govern the natural world. A biological sciences graduate from Wright State University, Dr. Beagle went on to pursue a graduate career in Chemistry. After graduating from the University of Florida with his Ph.D. in chemistry, Dr. Beagle went on to the University a Georgia as an assistant professor and chemistry teaching fellow. This time spent focusing on education blossomed into a study of chemical education with an interest in both how students learn and how faculty teach.

Following his time at the University of Georgia, Dr. Beagle took an assistant professor faculty position at Kettering College in 2014, being promoted to associate professor in 2016. Dr. Beagle joined the faculty at the University of Dayton as a lecturer in chemistry in August 2018 where he focuses on effectively teaching and learning in large lecture settings.

Faculty Perspective

My goal is to share with students the relevance of chemistry in the modern world. I enjoy working with students to implement techniques to make exploring the sciences more enjoyable. I believe that when students are able to find effective methods for studying chemistry, they can find a greater inspiration for chemistry.
