Degrees

  • BFA, Visual Communication Design, University of Dayton, 1997

Profile

Kevin graduated from the University of Dayton in 1997 with a BFA in Visual Communication Design. He has over 10 years experience in promotional advertising at agencies in Chicago and Miami. Kevin has worked on brands such as M&M Mars, FRIS Vodka, Mattel Toys, Sprint and the Florida Panthers Hockey team. In 2003, Kevin started his own freelance design firm that specializes in helping small businesses and start-up companies establish a corporate identity, create promotional advertising to increase visibility and build websites to market themselves on-line.

In 2009, Kevin created several Northern Michigan themed t-shirts designs for friends and family. As popularity grew, he started a seasonal business that sells t-shirts to nine stores in Northern Michigan and online at Michigan-Nightlife.com.

Kevin returned to the University of Dayton in 2012 as adjunct faculty to co-teach Advertising Design with his former professor Fred Niles.

Faculty perspective

"As an active member of the Hire A Flyer networking program, I have always found it very rewarding to lend advice to graduating students who are interested in advertising. Given the opportunity to return to campus to work with students for an entire semester has been a dream come true. I plan to use this class to pass along my experiences during my career in advertising and provide realistic projects in a creative team format. They will explore how the world of advertising is expanding into new areas like social media and online streaming. My goal is to teach them to think strategically with their message as well as their designs. They will look at current advertising and debate what they feel is effective, ethical and successful campaigns. The class will learn to design in several areas of advertising including print, event marketing, television, in-store and online."
