Profile

Kathy Weil Kargl is a senior lecturer in graphic design at the University of Dayton after working as an adjunct and artist-in-residence since 2001. Kathy brings over 25 years of professional design experience into the classroom. She has a strong focus on design production, trademark design and branding and works diligently to incorporate experiential learning into all courses she teaches. She conceived and leads the Design Practicum/Ligature Studio special problems course which offers upper-level graphic design majors professional experience in all phases of design project work to produce advanced, real world projects through experiential learning and service via partnerships with local nonprofit and campus-based organizations.

Kathy has been awarded by professional design organizations including AIGA, AAF-Dayton, the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (International Hermes Creative Awards) and Art Center Dayton as well as having work included in the book 1000 Greetings: Creative Correspondence Designed for All Occasions.
