MSG Jason Wilson entered the United States Army in September 1999 and completed One Station Unit Training for MOS 19D, at Fort Knox, Ky. His first duty assignment was with A Troop, 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment where he assumed the duties of Driver, Gunner and Section Sergeant. In 2003, MSG Wilson left active duty service and transferred into the Washington State National Guard where he served with E Troop, 1-303rd Cavalry Regiment. After a break-in service, MSG Wilson then re-entered the United States Army in Oct. 2009 as an 11B Infantrymen. 

MSG Wilson’s first assignment was with HHC, 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd ABN DIV., where he served in various positions to include Automatic Riflemen, Scout Observer, Senior Scout Observer, Recon Team Leader and Sniper Section Leader. Upon the completion of this assignment, MSG Wilson was then assigned to Chosen Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade where he served as a Weapons Squad Leader from July 2012 to April 2015.

In 2015, he was selected to serve as a Drill Sergeant with Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Ga., from Sept. 2015 to Sept. 2017. Upon completion as a Drill Sergeant, MSG Wilson was then assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 502D Infantry Regiment as a Platoon Sergeant from Oct. 2017 to July 2018. MSG Wilson then assumed the Platoon Sergeant duties of his Battalions Reconnaissance Platoon from July 2018 to March 2019. MSG Wilson assumed the responsibility of Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 502D Infantry Regiment from March 2019 to March 2020. MSG Wilson was then selected to serve as the Charlie Troop First Sergeant in 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment from March 2020 to Feb. 2021. In March 2021, MSG Wilson assumed his current duties as the Senior Military Instructor at the University of Dayton (ROTC). 

MSG Wilson’s deployments include Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; Cameroon, Africa in support of Operation Juniper Shield; Kosovo as well as deployments to Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Poland as part of Atlantic Resolve.   

MSG Wilson is a graduate of Air Assault, Airborne School, U.S. Army Ranger School, Jumpmaster School, EO Leaders Course, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course, Sniper Employment Leaders Course, Drill Sergeant School, Basic Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Master Leader Course, CFD-IC, USLC and the Master Educator Course.

MSG Wilson’s awards and decorations include Army Commendation Medal (four OLC), Army Achievement Medal (two silver OLC), Meritorious Unit Citation, Afghan Campaign Medal (one star), Kosovo Campaign Medal (one star), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 3), NATO Medal and National Defense Service Ribbon. MSG Wilson has earned the Ranger Tab, Combat Infantrymen Badge, Expert Infantrymen Badge, Air Assault Badge, Airborne Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge, Drivers Badge, German Schutzenseer Badge (Silver), as well as Canadian, Cameroonian, Italian and Hungarian Parachutist Badges.

MSG Wilson is also pursuing a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. He is married to Kristin Wilson.
