Refunds and Rollover
Meal Plan Refunds
Standard Plan
The Standard Plan will be prorated for the daily meal equivalency ($22.75) of the remaining unused days in the semester.
Flex Plan
The administrative fee of $925 from the Flex Meal plan will be prorated based on the number of days that you have occupied your residence.
Neighborhood Plan
The Neighborhood Plan will roll from the Fall 2020 Semester to the Spring 2021 Semester.
Medical Withdrawal
In the event of a medical withdrawal, meal plan refunds will be determined on a case by case basis.
Suspension or Expulsion
No meal plan refunds are available to students who are suspended or expelled from the university.
Meal Plan Rollover
Spring 2020 Rollover
The Spring 2020 Rollover plan will remain available to use while the student is enrolled at the University of Dayton. Upon graduation or departure from the University, the remaining balance of the Spring 2020 Rollover meal plan will be forfeited.
Flex Plan
Fall 2020 Rollover into Spring 2021:
Any unused funds from the Fall 2020 Flex Plan will rollover in full (100%) and be available for use to Spring 2021. In a traditional year, any unused funds from the Fall 2020 Flex Plan at the end of the Spring 2021 semester will be forfeited. We understand with COvID-19, that this is not a traditional year. As such, any unused Fall Flex Plan funds will carry forward and be available for use in the 2021-2022 academic year.
Spring 2021 Rollover
In a traditional year, Dining Services allows students with a remaining Spring Flex Plan Balance to rollover 50% of any unused funds up to $300. We understand with COVID-19, that this is not a traditional year. As such, any unused Spring Flex Plan funds will carry forward and be available for use in the 2021-2022 academic year.
Standard Plan
The Standard Plan for the Spring 2021 semester will be active when the student arrives on campus. Meal equivalencies will remain the same from the Fall 2020 semester: Breakfast is $6.00; Lunch is $8.00; Dinner is $8.75. In addition to the meal equivalencies, students will be given a $500 bonus to cover any overages or orders through GET. This bonus is for the 2020-2021 Academic Calendar and any unused bonus monies or unused meal equivalencies will be forfeited at the end of the Spring 2021 semester.
Neighborhood
In a traditional year, Dining Services does not allow any unused funds at the end of the Spring 2021 semester on the Neighborhood Meal Plan to carry forward. We understand with COVID-19, that this is not a traditional year. As such, any unused Neighborhood Meal Plan funds at the end of the Spring 2021 Semester will carry forward for use in the 2021-2022 academic year.
