Summer Plan

Students living in a residence hall  for the summer are required to purchase a declining balance meal plan of $300.

The summer meal plan is not intended to provide 3 meals a day, 7 days a week. This plan is set in place to provide residential sudents additional funds to supplement their outside meal purchases. During the summer break, the student housing population is around 200 and Dining Services does not operate main dining venues.

For any student staying on campus, on most days, there are a variety of options to choose from such as the Emprium, Marycrest and Brown Street Bistro.  Kennedy Union's Toss will also be open for lunches when there is New Student Orientation on campus.

Students with roll-over dollars from the prior semester may use those funds in addition to the purchased $300.00 meal plan. Any leftover summer meal plan money will roll-over to the next term, expiring in December.

Mandatory Meal Plan Purchase:
  • If you are taking summer classes and living in a residence hall.
  • If you are working on UD's campus for the summer and living in a residence hall.
  • If you are Interning/Co-Oping for the summer and living in a residence hall.
Exceptions:
  • Student athletes staying to complete the season will not be required to purchase a plan. A list of all participating students will be provided to Dining Services by the team coordinator. A meal plan will be billed to the student if they continue to reside in the residence hall after the provided leave date.

*Please see Hours of Operation for Summer Hours. Note, all locations are a'la carte; there are no all-you-care-to-eat dining facilities. Additionally, all dining facilities are cashless.
