Dr. W. David Salisbury is the Sherman-Standard Register Professor of Cybersecurity Management in the Department of MIS, Operations Management and Decision Sciences and Director, Center for Cybersecurity and Data Intelligence at the University of Dayton. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Calgary, an MBA from Miami University, and a BBA in Computer Systems in Business from Ohio University. Dave’s research has investigated information technology influences on small group interaction, managing organizational knowledge and prices in online markets. His more recent work includes describing criminal and terrorist uses of information technologies, infusing cybersecurity into the MIS curriculum and business intelligence.
Dave’s work has been published in Information Systems Research, Small Group Research, Information & Management, Decision Support Systems, Communications of the AIS, Group Decision & Negotiation, Electronic Markets and The Database for Advances in Information Systems, among others. In 2016, Dave completed a term as Co-Editor-in-Chief at The Database for Advances in Information Systems, a tenure highlighted by a significant increase in the journal’s impact factor. Dave also administers the cybersecurity course sequence in the SBA at UD, having led in its creation in 2010, and teaches coursework relevant to the NIST Risk Management Framework. Dr. Salisbury also holds the (ISC)2® Certified Authorization Professional certificate. He has been engaged in ongoing cybersecurity initiatives, both at UD and in the Dayton community, has presented cyber-related topics at several conferences and workshops and comments frequently in local media about cybersecurity issues.

Industry Advisory Board
The Department of Computer Science's industry advisory board meets annually to recommend a set of modifications to enhance our programs, enrollments and retention. Additionally, the board recommends issues such as cybersecurity and artificial intelligence that are important to the computer science industry.
