University of Dayton COVID-19 Cases - Fall Semester 2020

This chart reflects summaries of student, employee and visitor cases for the fall semester 2020.

Chart depicting COVID-19 cases among UD students for fall semester 2020. From August 10, 2020, through December 31, 2020, there were 1,537 student cases. The average daily new student cases was 11. The peak number of new student cases was 167 on August 28, 2020. Among employees and visitors, between August 10, 2020, and December 31, 2020, there were 47 employee cases and 12 visitor cases.

  • Cases reported reflect individuals who were working, living, studying or otherwise on campus during their contagious period.  
  • "Total Student Cases" and "Employee/Visitor Cases" reflect cases recorded from 8/10/20, when the tracking system was implemented, to 12/31/20. Six student and two employee/visitor cases were reported prior to that date. 
  • "Average Daily New Student Cases" reflects the daily average of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases recorded into the tracking system from 8/10/20 to 12/31/20.
