Symphonic Wind Ensemble
In Person
04:30 PM - 06:30 PM
Location: Concert Hall, Roger Glass Center for the Arts

For our debut in the new Roger Glass Center for the Arts Concert Hall, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble welcomes alumni Theresa May, trumpet; and Debi Schutt, guest conductor. Also joining us as guest conductors will be professor of music emerita, Dr. Linda Hartley, and Prof. Kenneth Will, director of the Pride of Dayton Marching Band. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble will open the concert with a specially commissioned fanfare by Ohio composer, Jesse Ayers, and then perform works by Dmitri Shostakovich, David Holsinger, Kevin Day, John Mackey and Percy Grainger.

The Symphonic Wind Ensemble performs the finest literature written for winds and percussion in four annual concerts, both on and off campus. As part of the Wind Ensemble program, works for various chamber ensembles drawn from the large group are also programmed throughout the year.
