Caretakers of People with Special Needs
12:00 PM - 01:00 PM
Location: 206 Alumni Hall

A gathering space for caretakers of individuals (of any age) with developmental, behavioral, emotional, and/or mental health special needs (including Down Syndrome, autism, ADHD, ODD, Bipolar, Anxiety, learning disabilities, sensory challenges, etc.). This gathering is a chance to connect with other caretakers who experience any (and quite possibly all) of the following: Managing many doctors and therapist appointments, meltdowns, anger outbursts, isolation, school calls, office referrals, suspensions, choosing the "best" school, medication changes, providing care after 18 yrs old, considering and using natural remedies, diagnoses, 504's and/or IEP's, constantly being "on" at work and at home, etc., etc.? Feeling lost, confused, bewildered? Who understands? What resources have other caretakers used? Share and celebrate the small successes. Be "present" for the challenges. All are welcome to attend.
