“From DNA to Climate”

The TREND Center and the Department of Biology present the Annual "Takis" Tsonis Memorial Lecture,  “From DNA to Climate,” presented by Anastasios A. Tsonis. Dr. Tsonis is Emeritus Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences Group at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Light refreshments will follow the seminar.

The Annual "Takis" Tsonis Memorial Lecture Series began in November 2016 and is sponsored by the Department of Biology and the TREND center, with support from the College of Arts and Sciences dean’s office. Takis Tsonis helped establish TREND in 2006 as an Ohio Center of Excellence in the field of biomedicine and health care. He studied tissue regeneration in the newt for more than 30 years with grant support from the National Institutes of Health, unlocking the processes that ultimately could enable humans to regrow tissue, organs and other parts of the body.
