Please join us for the first of three STARS luncheons featuring 2018 STEM Catalyst awardees. This session highlights research at the intersection of chemistry and physics on the interaction of light and matter.

  • Welcome by John Leland, VP for Research
  • Introduction by Jason Pierce, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Judit Beagle, Angela Mammana and Mark Masthay: "Mechanistic Studies of Laser-induced Color Changes in the Model Visual Pigment Bacteriorhodopsin"
  • Jay Mathews: "Development of hyperdoped silicon for infrared focal plane array detectors"
  • Presentations end at 1 p.m. and are followed by an opportunity for open discussion and networking.
