L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership

Bill Crotty

Bill Crotty graduated from the University of Dayton's School of Business Administration in 1952.  Working at the company his father co-founded in the Depression, Bill was highly successful in leading the growth of Van Dyne Crotty, Inc. to a position of industry leadership.  In 1998, Mr. Crotty presented a $1 million gift to the University of Dayton, establishing the Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership for continued education, research, and community outreach in entrepreneurship.

In addition to the initial Crotty gift, Fifth Third Bank of Dayton contributed $250,000 toward endowing The School of Business Administration Entrepreneur-In-Residence position, providing resources for the University to hire outstanding entrepreneurs to teach and share real world experiences with students in the Entrepreneurship program.

The University of Dayton Entrepreneurship Program has received numerous national awards, distinguishing our ENT program as one of the very best programs in the United States.  With the combination of a broad entrepreneurship curriculum, mixture of professors from Ph.D. programs and practicing entrepreneurs along with extracurricular programs supported by financial gifts from supportive entrepreneurs and alums, our ENT program has become one of very high distinction.
