The MEC Refresh
By Dustin J. Pickett
The Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center is undergoing a “Refresh” to help ensure a better home for our community of students, MEC Staff, and campus partners. If you’ve noticed room changes (the GAs are now in 109), new wall colors, or additional space within the center (like the new conference room in 116), you are witnessing Phase I of our MEC Refresh.
Throughout Phases I & II of the “Refresh,” you will not only notice improvements to our physical space, including new furniture, artwork, graphics, and technology, but we are also implementing additional initiatives and changes.
The MEC Blog is one of those new initiatives. By revamping our blog, we can ensure that students, staff, faculty, alumni, and other valuable community partners know what we are doing as a center.
In this blog, you will find helpful tips to help you navigate campus, highlights of our work, engaging discussion on various current events and topics, and more. The blog will feature articles/pieces from MEC Staff and other guests.
In addition to our blog revamp, we have new alumni support/engagement opportunities, student involvement, funding opportunities, educational offerings, and programs.
Would you like to join in supporting our students, initiatives, programs, and center? Visit our online donation page to make a gift.

Thanks for reading, and we will see you next week for our first official post.
