Annunciation Art for a Multidisciplinary Marian Forum

By Henry Handley

On March 25, the Catholic feast day of the Annunciation, the University of Dayton College of Arts and Sciences and University Libraries will host a Marian Forum to explore the theme “Annunciation and Contemporary Challenges: Be Not Afraid (Luke 1:30).” Student and scholar panelists who represent the multidisciplinary nature of the University will explore connections between the scriptural story and contemporary challenges of racism, immigration and the pandemic, and a presentation of Annunciation-themed art and music follows the 3 o’clock prayer. This year’s forum is organized by representatives from across campus — the International Marian Research Institute, the Department of Religious Studies, Campus Ministry, the Marian Library and the Institute for Pastoral Initiatives.

For more information on this free event, including links to register for the panels and presentations and to view a livestream of the Mass for the Solemnity of the Annunciation at 12:30 p.m., visit go.udayton.edu/marianforum.
