The Fourth Week of Advent: The Nativity Narrative

By Ann Zlotnik

We have arrived at the fourth week of Advent, and Christmas day is nearly here. The Marian Library’s virtual Advent wreath is glowing brightly now that all four candles have been lit.

This fourth and last gift of Advent is very special. It is the story of the angel appearing to the shepherds in the field as they are “keeping the night watch over their flock,” read to you by Brother Raymond L. Fitz, S.M., president emeritus of the University.

Visit go.udayton.edu/adventwreath to watch and listen as the familiar words of this Gospel reading are illustrated with Nativity sets from the popular Marian Library Crèche Collection.

Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones from all of us at the Marian Library!
