Now Available: Issue 70 of the ‘Marian Library Newsletter’

By Sarah B. Cahalan

The Marian Library announces the release of the latest issue of the Marian Library Newsletter, now available in digital form on the University of Dayton’s institutional repository, eCommons.

The newly redesigned newsletter — now in its 70th issue — has undergone many transformations since its launch in 1944 (browse them all in eCommons), but this format is the largest to date, having doubled in size from eight pages to 16.

Contributors share engaging stories about the work of the Marian Library — collection development, instruction, outreach, and conservation and preservation — plus features on rare books from the 15th century and the diary of a young woman’s travels in 1930s Europe. The object is to give you, the reader, a deeper connection with the Marian Library and a better understanding of its work since 1943 to help people around the world to know, love and serve the Blessed Mother.

Due to the global health crisis, we are not printing and mailing this issue right now but hope to do so in the coming months. We couldn't wait to share the electronic copy, however; readers can download it or use the digital magazine platform ISSUU; instructions are provided.

— Sarah B. Cahalan is an associate professor, the director of the Marian Library and the editor of the Marian Library Newsletter.
