Marian Library Remote Services
By Henry Handley
Although the Marian Library is closed in response to the coronavirus pandemic, library staff are still providing some services remotely.
Book a Librarian
If you need support for an assignment related to the Marian Library’s collections or would like to learn more about its resources, Book a Librarian has options to request a phone call or a Zoom meeting with a librarian working with art, archives or published materials in the Marian Library.
Learn about exhibits past and present
Did you have plans to visit the “Mary in Miniature” exhibit on Books of Hours before the temporary closure? You can still read the blog post with more information on the exhibit and previous posts that exhibit curator Jillian Ewalt has written:
- Books of Hours: The Medieval Best-seller, Part I
- Books of Hours: The Medieval Best-seller, Part II
- Books of Hours: The Medieval Best-seller, Part III
You can also view oral histories from the Marian Library volunteers who make the annual At the Manger exhibits possible and peruse selected materials from the John Stokes and Mary’s Gardens archival collection on eCommons, UD’s open-access institutional repository.

These publications are available in their entirety online:
- Marian Studies (peer-reviewed publication of the Mariological Society of America)

The University Libraries are communicating updates about the pandemic response on a dedicated page; if you have additional questions not addressed here, email marianlibrary@udayton.edu. Please note that requests for physical materials can only be fulfilled for UD faculty and graduate students at this time; staff are not scanning materials at this time.
