Myriad Pictures to launch European Film Market (EFM) sales on faith-based drama, Fatima, at the Berlin Film Festival which runs from February 20-27, 2020.
Myriad Pictures has picked up international sales on faith-based drama, Fatima, starring Stephanie Gil, Lúcia Moniz, Joaquim de Almeida, Goran Visnjic, Sonia Braga and Harvey Keitel and will launch sales at EFM this month.
Bob and Jeanne Berney’s revived distribution label, Picturehouse, will release the drama in North America on April 24 on more than 1,000 screens.
Marco Pontecorvo directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Valerio D’Annunzio and Barbara Nicolosi based on historical events about a ten-year-old shepherd and her two young cousins in Fátima, Portugal, who report seeing visions of the Virgin Mary....

Books of Hours--devotional books centered on a series of prayers to the Virgin Mary--were the bestselling book in Europe for over 300 years, from 1250-1550. This exhibit highlights Books of Hours in the Marian Library's collection--their art, their text and their unique (and sometimes unusual) features. Books of Hours, also called horae, not only contain artistic masterpieces in miniature but also provide a window into the religious and social lives and customs of their medieval readers....

Pope’s Message for 28th World Day of the Sick (Zenit), February 11, 2020
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest" (Mt 11:28), is the title of the Holy Father's Message for the 28th World Day of the Sick, held today, February 11, the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes. Here is the full text of the Message, which was signed on January 3, 2020, Memorial of the Most Holy Name of Jesus:

Dear brothers and sisters,
Jesus' words, "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest" (Mt 11:28) point to the mysterious path of grace that is revealed to the simple and gives new strength to those who are weary and tired. These words of Christ express the solidarity of the Son of Man with all those who are hurt and afflicted. How many people suffer in both body and soul! Jesus urges everyone to draw near to Him--"Come to me!"--and He promises them comfort and repose. "When Jesus says this, He has before Him the people He meets every day on the streets of Galilee: very many simple people, the poor, the sick, sinners, those who are marginalized by the burden of the law and the oppressive social system ... These people always followed Him to hear His word, a word that gave hope! Jesus' words always give hope!" (Angelus, 6 July 2014) ...
To the Blessed Virgin Mary, Health of the Sick, I entrust all those who bear the burden of illness, along with their families and all healthcare workers. With the assurance of a remembrance in my prayers, I cordially impart my Apostolic Blessing.

In Argentina, 400 grottos to be built for celebration of Virgin Mary (Catholic News Agency) February 7, 2020
To commemorate the anniversary of a statue of the Virgin Mary being discovered in Argentina, 400 small grottos are being constructed in one region of the country.
Four hundred years ago, an indigenous Argentine discovered a statue of Our Lady in a rock niche on the side of a remote slope. The image bears the brown skin tone of the native population, and has led to widespread popular devotion, under the title Our Lady of the Valley, the patroness of the province of Catamarca, where the discovery occurred....
