Announcing New Director of the Office of Learning Resources, Learning Teaching Center

John Harrelson will be joining the Office of Learning Resources as its new director, starting Monday, September 21.  John comes to us from Miami University of Ohio, where he has served as a Senior Associate Director in their Student Success Center, part of their Enrollment Management Division. He has also served as an academic success coach and disability services coordinator at Wittenberg University.  He brings strong skills in data analytics, a systems mindset, and much more. John is a strong advocate for student success and retention. John is a UD Flyer (BA in History) and also has an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University of Chicago.

Many thanks go to the search committee, which conducted a search in the midst of our rush to emergency remote everything. Members of the search committee included Michelle Pautz (chair), Deanna Arbuckle (OLR), Garry Crosson (Chemistry), Paul Dagnall (eLearning/UDit), Sue Krisko (AALI), Brenda Lecklider (OLR), Danielle Poe (College of Arts and Sciences) Scott Segalewitz (School of Engineering) and Aaron Witherspoon (University Advising Initiatives and Student Success).  

Thanks also go to Susan Brown, Director of Faculty Development, for her willingness to serve as the Interim Director of OLR from July 1 until September 21, when John commences his role  She has been a steady, informed and welcoming voice for OLR in various circles around campus during a stressful time for all.
