Supporting UD's Department Chairs

Each month, department chairs from across campus come together to engage in discussion around issues pertinent to their role as chair.  Often conversations center on best practices associated with leading departments and chairs’ unique leadership positions within the university structure.

During fall semester, chairs engaged in conversations around diversity, equity, and inclusion, the university’s Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET), and department structures and cultures with Provost Paul Benson.  The Chairs Collaborative provides a chance for chairs to be in community with others who understand and are experiencing the role. In addition to monthly meetings, the LTC also hosts a New Chairs Retreat twice a year to introduce chairs to important aspects of the role and provide a place for conversation and training around some of the functions of the chair position.
