New Faculty + New Space + New Event = Success

In mid-August, 22 new faculty from every academic unit gathered for two days in the newly updated Collab and Scholars’ Commons of Roesch Library for the inaugural New Faculty Teaching Institute.  NFTI, facilitated by the LTC, was designed to help new faculty become familiar with UD’s commitment to teaching and the resources we offer to support learning and teaching.

The participants had among them 149 years of teaching experience at institutions all over the world, and they shared generously their ideas and practices.  The sessions were designed for reflection and collaborative work.

NFTI evaluation indicated that these new colleagues feel better prepared to use Isidore, provide frequent feedback to students, and weave more active learning into courses.
