Email, Text, Chat: Who’s There? We Are

By The Roesch Library Research Team

As this unusual version of spring semester winds down, the Roesch Library research team is ready to support students with their final projects or any questions they may have. We’re available by email, text, chat and by phone or Zoom appointment using Book a Librarian.

How might we assist? Here are some general examples of help we’ve provided remotely thus far:

  • Worked over email with a thesis writer who was looking for a specific book that we normally could have requested using OhioLINK; instead, we located alternative sources with similar content using online article databases.
  • Held Zoom consultations with students in a history course to locate primary sources for a research paper. Since each student had a different research topic, the sessions were customized for their specific needs.
  • Communicated over chat to help a graduate student arrange to pick up a book during the library’s Friday pickup hours.
  • Advised a student on the best course of action for accessing a specific digital resource from off campus.
  • Worked via email with a faculty member to locate newspaper articles for a course lecture.

What remote support would be most helpful to you? Email the team at library@udayton.edu
