Read On! Book Drive: Mission Accomplished

The University of Dayton Libraries in partnership with the Teacher Education Department, English Department Social Justice LLC, Curriculum Materials Center, Bombeck Center, University Bookstore and Pi Phi have wrapped up a successful eight-week book drive on April 17th that will benefit Fairview Elementary School in Dayton. Their efforts combined helped raise 2,238 book donations. Each Fairview student from pre-K through 3rd grade will choose 10 books to take home for summer reading. Read On! Dayton was established to help children achieve reading proficiency in order to pass Ohio’s 3rd grade reading proficiency test. These donations will put books in the hands of children who have limited access to reading materials and help them stay on track!
