"Paws" for a Moment with Therapy Dogs

Finals week is always a stressful time at UD. After a long semester of classes, students put in days of work to prove to their teachers that they understand the information that was taught. Personally, when I become over-stressed I start to become homesick. Not only am I counting down until I am done with finals, but I am counting down until the next time I can go home, get adequate sleep, and see my family.

Roesch always has an amazing line-up of ways to help students stress-free from chair massages to free food, but last December they had a new event. Therapy dogs from the Miami Valley Pet Therapy Association came to visit! Multiple dogs came throughout Finals Week into the library to help students relieve stress and give their minds a break.

I know that seeing these beautiful and friendly dogs definitely gave me a productive break from studying and helped cure my homesickness for my own golden retriever. I'm excited that the MVPTA dogs are coming back this semester and I hope this program continues for years to come.

Visit with therapy dogs during finals week to de-stress. A therapy dog will be on the first floor of Roesch Library Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of Spring 2013 finals from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
