On September 2, 2020, Sister Celia Chua, M.I.C., Adjunct Faculty member at IMRI, had a zoom interview with Salt and Light Media (Canadian Catholic TV) about the who, what, and why of the Canadian Mariological Society (SOCAMA) and their plans during this confinement.  It was televised on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 20h. Montreal time.

SOCAMA will collaborate by giving Salt and Light short Marian sessions (perhaps monthly and especially before any important Marian feast days).  These televised programs will enable viewers to know, loved and serve Mary better.  Stay tuned for more details.

N.B. The Canadian Mariological Society will hold its annual Marian Congress at the National Shrine of Notre Dame Du Cap in Canada on Saturday, October 20, 2020.

MSA member, FatherEmery De Gaal, will attend a conference in September 2020 in Lugano, Switzerland, honoring the legacy of Leo Cardinal Scheffczyk (1920-2005), the premier German Mariologist between 1960 and 2005.  Father Emery will speak on his epochal treatment of Carolingian Mariology.

'Let's Think of Our Lady of Sorrows and Thank Her for Accepting Being Mother,' Says Pope Francis (Zenit), April 3, 2020

According to Vatican News, Pope Francis stressed this during his private daily Mass at his residence, Casa Santa Marta, on the Passion Friday before Palm Sunday, where we remember Mary's pain.

The Holy Father dedicated the homily to the Virgin of Sorrows.

"Today," he said, "it will do us good to think of the sorrows of Our Lady and thank her for having accepted to be a Mother."

At the start of the Mass, while remembering all victims of coronavirus, the Holy Father prayed for those who carry great responsibilities even eventually in the aftermath of the epidemic, to help those who, resulting from this period have problems of poverty, work and hunger....
