2020 Miriyam Award Winners

It is with great pleasure we announce the co-winners of the 2020 Miryam Award: Dr. Megan Reissman and the Dayton Athletics Women Leaders.  Each year, Campus Ministry's Center for Social Concern, in collaboration with others across campus, recognize a faculty, staff person, student, or group who has enhanced the climate for women at the University of Dayton.  This year's winners have gone above and beyond their normal call of duty and have held space for those in need, created new and exciting experiences and have expanded the inclusivity that the University of Dayton (UD) strives for in all we do.  This award reflects the inspiration found in Mary's yes at the Annunciation to God's call to carry the hope and love of Jesus into the world.  The presence of Dr. Reissman and the Dayton Athletics Women Leaders here at UD continue to inspire many.

Mary During Jesus' Public Life (Zenit), March 23, 2020

Given the present health emergency, this homily was recorded and transmitted later, reported Vatican News.

According to this Vatican source, Father Cantalamessa began by reminding that in this Lent's meditation, he is continuing with the series begun in Advent, following in the footsteps of the Mother of God.  "It will be a way to put ourselves under the Virgin's protection, in such a critical moment for the whole of humanity, due to the Coronavirus pandemic," he said....

COVID-19 is preventing us from being physically present for our Catholic Services and particularly our Lenten Traditional Stations of the Cross....
