A new Experiential Learning grant opportunity for CAS faculty

The College of Arts & Sciences announces a new Experiential Learning grant opportunity for CAS faculty.

The College’s Strategic Plan identifies the need to “Champion high-impact experiential and community-engaged learning as a signature and distinct element of the College’s transformative educational experience” (Strategy 3.1).  In order to move this initiative forward the Dean’s office invites academic departments and programs to submit proposals that will provide department-wide opportunities for students to engage in high-impact experiential and/or community-engaged learning.

BACKGROUND AND SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:

Four of the initiatives under the College’s Strategy 3.1 include:

Given the evident breadth of these four initiatives as well as the possibility of departments and programs partnering with the Fitz Center, other CAS Centers and Institutes, or the Office of Experiential Learning, those interested in submitting proposals should plan to discuss their initial proposal outline with Associate Dean Don Pair. These early conversations are intended to facilitate emerging collaborations, identify ways others in our office can assist, and provide feedback on initial ideas. Final proposals will be reviewed by the Dean’s office.

ELIGIBILITY:

College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate academic programs and departments, including minors.

FINAL PROPOSALS ARE DUE:

4pm, Friday, March 23, 2018

Cover sheet, written by Department Chair or Program Director

Proposal narrative (no more than 3 pages)
